It’s time to pay off those late fees and, at the same time, help provide food for people in need in our community. Since 2005, Lane Library has accepted over 1085 cans of food and waived over $2170 in fines to help feed the needy.

A large, retrospective cohort study published Nov. 12 in BMJ is the latest to look at the association between isotretinoin and attempted suicide. Concerns about a link between isotretinoin and suicidal behavior have abounded for years, although previous studies have failed to show a conclusive link.

Children at risk for type 1 diabetes showed fewer signs of beta-cell autoimmunity for up to 10 years if they were fed a highly hydrolyzed casein formula rather than conventional cows-milkbased formula during infancy, according to a report in the Nov. 11 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

Patients with atrial fibrillation who were taking the anticoagulant dabigatran for secondary stroke prevention suffered an ischemic stroke or systemic embolism at a rate similar to patients taking warfarin in a prespecified subgroup analysis of patients from the 2-year RE-LY trial.
