The NLM Update was held at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Library Association in Honolulu, HI on May 19, 2009. There were three speakers at this year’s update. Dr. Donald A.B. Lindberg, Director, brought users up-to-date on some of the Library programs as well as future plans; Mr. Sheldon Kotzin, Associate Director for Library Operations, gave an update on Library Operations activities; and Ms. Stacey Arnesen, Head, Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC), gave an update on DIMRC. All drug products and drug ingredients manufactured by Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. at three sites in Michigan have been seized by United States marshals at the request of the Food and Drug Administration because of the companys continued violations of the agencys current Good Manufacturing Practices.

SAN FRANCISCO (EGMN) Attempts to manually turn fetuses that were in occiput posterior position in the second stage of labor led to vaginal deliveries in 91% of 731 cases, compared with 59% of 2,527 malpositioned fetuses who were delivered vaginally after expectant management, a retrospective study found.
