A U.S. federal judge ordered the Food and Drug Administration on March 23 to make the emergency contraceptive Plan B (levonorgestrel) available to 17 year olds without a prescription within 30 days. Currently, Plan B is available without prescription to women aged 18 years and older.

Michael J. Donoghue, G. Evelyn Hutchinson Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, will present Annual Lecture at YSM

Michael Donoghue will present the keynote address for the 61st annual lecture sponsored by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library Associates on Wednesday, April 15. The lecture, Charles Darwin, the Tree of Life, and the Future of Biodiversity will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Medical Historical Library, Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, 333 Cedar Street, followed by a reception in the Beaumont Room, Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Donoghues work focuses on plant diversity and evolution. In particular, he is interested in Viburnum and Dipsacales and in the origin and early evolution of flowering plants.
